    Delock.. I bought a 2400 baud modem the first time I got online because I could not afford the $500 for a 9600 USR... I got online in 1987 to let you know -- I still paid $115.00 with employee pricing for the 2400 motorola modem

    Dial-up Internet Access is a form of Internet access via telephone lines.The user's computer or router uses an attached modem connected to a telephone line to dial into an Internet service provider's (ISP) node to establish a modem-to-modem link, which is then used to route Internet Protocol packets between the user's equipment and hosts on the Internet. BTW... it's a veeeeeery slow Internet connection!!!!

    it means if you have dial up internet on a 56 kbps modem don't click on this b/c it will take forever to load. which doesn't matter too much anymore b/c pretty much everyone has dsl or cable internet.
