I used Zyban to quit smoking back in 1998, and it took only 10 days for me. I was at 1.5 packs of Marlboro Menthol Lights 100s back in those days. I don't like the side effects with Chantix I saw in 2 former coworkers. One tried to "blow her brains out with a gun", per her husband, and the other became a raging b!tch!

Good luck man, is not easy i seen many ppl fail just stay strong and have control of the urges. If that fails chantix works amazing in quitting but just gotta deal with the side effects

Not to be on the bitter side, but I lost my mom last year at age 50. She smoked everyday. Stage 4 lung cancer by the time it was caught. She only lasted a few months after the diagnosis. Everyone is different, but watching my mom die in hospice care before my eyes made me not ever wanna smoke. I took a puff as a kid and it hurt my lungs so I've never tried it but I have seen success stories. My dad was an alcoholic and one day he just decided to stop cold turkey. He used to put some liquor away everyday. Haven't seen him drink in 10+ years so you can do it. Good luck.
