Okay.....Mom's doing better lately, and it looks like she will be headed back to her former rehab facility early next week. I'm clearing out most of her furniture as you are probably aware of already and am looking at my final days here in houston. Tomorrow I'll try to confirm that mom is able to be excepted as a resident of the rehab facility once her medical issues have been addressed. If she is accepted as a resident, I'll have to leave mom here to recoup and go thru much needed physical therapy....once she is able to walk, we can come back to texas, either myself or another family member and bring mom back with us to the rest of the family.

Thanks to everyone who has helped me find new homes for my fishie friends, and who have helped me clear out some of the items that I will not be able to take with me to Indiana......again...thank you all....very much.....Mike D..... Treston....all of you...

Went to visit mom today.....she was not doing as well today as in the past couple of days.....the nurse tells me she was unresponsive in the am...and was a bit lathargic.....she wasn't much better when I went to visit at 2pm....she knew who I was, but was still somewhat sluggish and slow to respond.....she is scheduled for an MRI, but I don't know what they are looking for, or what part of her they are interested in looking at.....

I would like to thank all of you ahead of time for your prayers and best wishes.....I will keep you all posted....

Mom is resting better today, still at Willowbrook methodist hosp. They tell me she will be transferred back to the rehab facility down the street tomorrow after new Xrays are taken and examined to determine the status of the break she suffered on Monday. I'm in better spirits after hearing she will be going to this rehab facility again, since they were so nice to her before....

Funny you mentioned being tested....I recently quit praying twice a day..I was having a "poor poor me - pity party" and last night was the first time I prayed in a few days......what is it they say about our father in heaven....he works in mysterious ways.....thanks for the support and good will John...Bless you...

Well, my memorial day started at 4am....I was sound asleep and was awoken by cries of HELP from my mom...

long story short....she's back in Willowbrook Methodist....she fell trying to get to the bathroom and broke the smaller leg bone in her right leg and her infection is back....

I'm a wreck.....I'm supposed to be moving soon and now my mom is back in the hosp....at least she's alive and I am thankful for that.....and also, thankful to all those men and women who have given the supreme sacrifice for their country....

Well...one step closer to being tankless, a fellow boxer came by and picked up my two FX5's from me today, so now I'm down to just the tank and stand and the lids, plus a single powerhead for o2 for the fishes that will be taken to BB's very soon.

Mom is still a huge concern as well...she's sharp as a tack mentally but her body is failing her at a good pace, if she does not show some improvement soon, I'm afraid she'll have to be put back in rehab....and maybe even left here in Texas on her own...I hate to do it, but cannot continue to postpone my move....I'm in a real pickle here....

I'm concerned about mom....she's been home for four days now and does not show any signs of physical improvement....

Went and bailed mom out of solitary today, she was thankful to say the least.....It's nice to have her home although she is a bit of a POA at times....but I suppose so was I when she was raising me back in Hawthorne California back in the sixties....I'm suddenly reminded of a Disney movie and famous Elton John song....
C'mon..you know what it is......sing along with me.....Can you feel the love tonight.......

Okay...moms' making good progress and is scheduled to be discharged from her rehab unit tomorrow....she should, if all goes well...fly to her new home with her sister in Michigan on the 8th of June....I'll be leaving shortly thereafter for Indiana. I hope to find something steady nine to fivish, and live quietly waiting on the storm troopers to bust in the front door looking for my weapons of mass destruction....smiles.

On a side note.....I bowl on a bowling league on tuesdays and we had our finals tonight....our team was in first place and we had a chance to win the entire enchillada...but it wasn't meant to be....guess we'll be runners up this time around....All my remaining fish will be going to the fish store soon...and my Oceanic 135 is up for sale....
