I ahd this issue in my 70 gallon planted tank. I did add 2 more angels and rescaped the tank and the problem stoped. Good luck to you.Originally posted by sweetsh4real View Postright now the chinese algae eater is not a problem but I am going to take it back...One of the 3 angelfish has become a little territorial towards one of the others...but its not a horrible situation...was thinking of trying getting couple more to add some distraction but was trying to keep my planted tank with a small fish load. Wanted the three angels to be able to grow comfortably and have plenty of room

I have my own little conspiracy theory on this. It's the same reason they sell common plecos and oscars to people with 10g tanks. They want the fish to die. Think about it. If every fish a person bought was healthy, lived harmoniously with its tankmates, and never outgrew its tank, there would never be a reason to buy more fish for that tank! At least not until the fish die of old age! But if the fish die of disease (and even better, wipe out existing healthy fish in the tank), kill each other through aggression, and/or are unsuitable for the tank size, people would be coming right back to buy disease cure products, larger tanks, and of course, more fish!Originally posted by aquabee View Post+1. Why do LFS's even carry these any more?

and yes...they shouldn't carry those chinese algae eaters...people just go for a cleaner and end up with a monster

Here's a good assortment of comments from people who have owned this fish. Some people like the fish, others do not, but take note of the comments regarding aggression and territorial behavior. If after reading the experiences others have had with this fish, you still want it, then at least you'll have a better idea what you're getting into. Otherwise, stay clear of it.
Fish most definitely have different personalities, and you can't really tell which are gentle and which are aggressive by the way they look. Often, the large pet stores provide much too little (or downright inaccurate) information to make a good buying decision. For the best advice, talk to others in the hobby who have had experience with different fish. You can also get a lot of good info from the internet. If you ever have questions on which fish to get, there are lots of people here who would be more than happy to help. :)

If you can take it back, I would recommend it. This is not a fish I'd recommend. It will only become more aggressive as it gets older.

That will hopefully work! Don't be discouraged. It'll work out eventually with a little patience and lots of love!!Originally posted by sweetsh4real View Postok...thanks...didn't realize fish could have so many personalities...I'm a little confused...may just take this one back and try again???
