I'm getting confused with the names of the fishes now. I'm trying to make a list of what other fishes I can keep with peacocks. I want peacocks for sure, just trying to see what else I'd be able to keep with them.

I just want something simple to be honest. I used to have cichlids in a 55. I'll probably end up just keeping

Peacocks
electric yellows
red zebras
Electric blues
kenyis
venestus
demasonis

And whatever else I see that I like lol

I remember keeping all of these and did pretty good

LOL, see I zoned on Brichardis completely! So many things to consider and take into account. Definitely think it out and have back up ideas for if things go south. Gobies are great and stay small, but try keeping more then one pair in a tank under 150 packed with rock and you'll have 4 jumpers or dead fish as an example. Studying and researching your desired species, is a real must.

On a side note, Roy just made a new Dagon. Congrats bro lol!!!

Usually I recommend envisioning a Tang tank in areas. 1. Open water - Often Cyps, Trophs/Petros, Fronts, or Featherfins. 2. Rockdwellers - Julies, leluipi, telmatochromis, or Lepidiolamprologines (best with Fronts as they are sizable) 3. Open Sand - Xenos, sandsifters, shelldwellers 4. Oddballs - Altos, Synodontis, Tang Eels, Killifish, ect. Find a collection point you prefer and build a tank around that area

Roy covered a broad base of how you would build a biotop Tangs tank, but it will be trial and error.

This is my personal mix that works:

Clown loach
Leulepi
Calvus
Brichardi
Syno Petricola cat
Pictus cat
BN pleco
Eretmodus
Chalinochromis Nbobhoy
Julidochromis

Most of them are raised together at small size.

Not at all, I had a few plants in our Tanganyikan biotope and the vals are even found in the lake itself. Really just depends on what you go with as far as stocking goes. Fronts are nice, so are the peacocks. Together might be tricky, but I've seen things like that work if everything is done right. Malawiand Vics have more color, but Tangs are very social and its their personalities that win folks over. There are lots of choices in the Rift lakes, even beyond cichlids. I'd avoid Trophs, Petros, and Distichodus if plants are a desire, but beyond that most can be shielded even from focused diggers.
