  • Tyson's Geophagus breeding tank

Hey guys , most of you guys would have seen my livebearer thread with my 6ft tank. I have now converted the tank to a cichlid style setup. I had a community style tank with a few green terrors, parrots, dempseys, horse faces. I have now decided to Breed the horse faces there a Geophagus Rio branco. I have sold most of my other cichlids today. Keeping the rio brancos and picking up 10 tommoro to start my colony.

What do you guys reccomend on breeding these? I will post pictures of my tank soon and tommoro il post my rio brancos when picked up

Slight glimpse of the 6ft tank. Using a 3 1/2 foot light atm im after a 6ft light soon. Not old style yellow fluro i like the look of it on the rocks and the americans glowy colours

I can ask Kirk if that's a Winemilleri. He's the person I travelled the world with doing research. Knowledgable guy. Fish is named after him.

Tys says they're Geo. sp. Rio Branco. Winemilleri seems to have more red on the body.

                  Your scape looks nasty!

                  But nice fish.

Good luck with the breeding. I've always like geos.
I ate my fish that died.

Geophagus are Earth eaters. They will be happier with a sand bottom
