i dont know where the hell i'd put another 125g tank....unless we get rid of the couch...does anybody really NEED a couch? We can all fit on the loveseat

the more i thought about it, yes, the tank would most likely be cramped. This just gives me an excuse to buy another tank. (dont tell the ol' ball n chain)

Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but a 65g that already has 8 angels would be too small to add a school of discus wouldn't it?

I think i'm gonna try it. I had my angels with a few different kinds of fish and they were always cool. I'll keep my fingers crossed cuz these Discus arent cheap

Well, are you angels well mannered enough to stay back and not go after what you're feeding the discus? Mine never were, they could be so full they looked like they were going to burst and would still compete for the food. You also might want to consider the fact that angels can harbor diseases and parasites that won't necessarily have a killer effect on them, but will on a discus, especially a stressed one. If you really want to try it, go for it and if it doesn't work out, just separate them again. It's been my experience that angels fear no one when it comes to feeding time, regardless of the disparity in size .

I have a theory (and usually these come to me at 4 in the morning when i'm sleep deprived) if i feed the angels the flake food that they like and feed the discus the pellets that they like, there will be no competition for food....

Also, if the discus were much larger than the angels, would that do anything to ease aggression?

And fishboyt, what size tank did you have and what was the ratio of discus to angels?

Wouldn't do it.

Angel fish are members of the cichlid family and they can be agressive, with 8 in a 65 if they pair off and start breeding the discus are in trouble.

i had discus and angel mixed in my tank before, discus did not compete for food or just ate a little food, and they became so skinny. i separated them to different tanks, and they are happy with their own tanks now.
you may see your discus turn the color a little worse when you feed them if you have mixed tank.

Angels are much more aggressive at feeding time. I tried it with the two together and it didn't work for me.
