The mark under his eye is getting better, still there but not as noticeable. Doesn't even seem to have bothered him, he never changed coloration which usually means he is stressed about something. I dropped 8-9 ram horns in after the crawfish battle and he gobbled up like nothing. So I'm positive he'll be fine. Any bigger of a crawfish and I fear it could have been worse. I don't care how unsporting it is, I will cut the claws off of all the crawfish I feed him from now on. Not worth him losing an eye BC of me. Although they do face tougher conditions in the wild, this puffer is my responsibility and I will do what I can to take care of him. I'll step down off my soap box now.

I think the claw conversation jinxed puffer man. This one decided to fight back. Probably will be cutting off the claws from now on. This one wasn't that big.

There is a mark under his eye, wonder how long it'll be there. It didn't actually cut his skin, its tougher than I thought.

That's another thing, size matter here , if the crawfish is big , that would do damage I thing u was talking about small to medium size,

Not every fish is a predatory fish in the nature , when I use to have predatory fish I will feed live fish raise by me , and pellets some time only I get lazy all depend of the species , but puffer prey size matter.

May sound weak, but would you rather have a puffer with it's eyes or without it? That's just like saying feeding fish pellets makes them weak. It's in their nature to eat whatever it is that they eat in nature...

Puffer man almost lost an eye to a beast of a crawfish one time too. After he shook it off the went after the head and killed it immediately.

Break off the claws next time? Minimizes chances for damage to the fish
