Hygro sunset grows well in any light. The one in my tanks start going pink at the top of the plant. You could probably split the plant I gave into three stems and they would do great.

If you gassed it with real CO2 they probably would've had a better chance. OOOOr you could've acclimated them to your tank with no CO2. What I do is either gas the tank with CO2. Plants usually never melt. If you don't have CO2, you can float the plants for a few weeks and then plant it into your substrate. I recently got a 20x20 patch of glosso grown emersed. The floating patch hasn't melted at all and I'll be planting it later.

downoi melted badly I have like 1 portion left still survive.. even though I put a lot of root tab underneath the substrate.

On the other hand, dwarf hairgrass is starting to send out runners as soon as I remove the old moss carpet. Pygmy chainsword is also doing great, I haven't seen the goldfish uprooting them.

I've noticed pumping a lot of CO2 into the tank helps minimizing the melting. When I flooded my HC tank, I pumped it with a ton of CO2. None of it melted. In fact, they turned greener!

On another note, half of the downoi I got from petsmart is just kinda melting.. I know they were grown emersed so that's kinda expectable.. but I'm hoping to see them bouncing back and start growing soon, as they look kinda depressing now.
