If you are using RO water then you could keep both Neocardina and Cardina

    tiger + yellow
    tiger + red

You shouldn't keep the rcs with the yellow shrimp as they will crossbreed.

the lighting should be sufficient for low-medium light plants.

Yes its the t5ho fixture, I had it on another saltwater tank.

What about tiger shrimp or yellow shrimp? would they be able to live with cherries, if not, id rather be able to keep either/both of them rather than the cherry....

I think I see another shrimp tank in the near future...lol

is that aquaticlife the T5NO fixture?

depending on the light substrate and what plants you decide to go with will determine your need of fertilizers.

With RCS you should only keep sp. that are not Neocardina and most non neocardina do not share the same parameters but sulawesi shrimp would be a good match as far as parameters cause the RCS could live in almost anything and you could adapt the RCS to live with Cardina sp.

your ghost shrimp dieing is probably cause they were feeders and most are brackish water shrimp or just poor health/quality

Ideal Planted Shrimp Tank water params

Hi, new to the forum and planted tanks and not really sure where to post this since it combines several catagories.
I've always kept reef tanks and freshwater fish tanks. I have recently gotten bored with my 20g reef tank and decided I wanted to do something different. Sooo I set up a 10g tank that I had lying around in the garage. It has a couple of ghost shrimp(most of them died over night for some reason) in it right now but they are just food for my reef tank inhabitants. I want to keep cherry shrimp and other ornamental shrimp but i'm not sure what other shrimp are compatible with cherry shrimp, so here are my questions: What other shrimp can I keep with cherrys? What are the ideal water params(ph,temp, hardness, etc)? What should I be dosing my tank with?flourish products?

Here is the equipment I currently have on the tank:
*Aquaclear20 Filter with sponge over intake
*20" Aquaticlife light fixture with 2- 10k bulbs
*fluval CO2 system (not running right now)
    *50watt heater
Working...
