I said awhile back that she was hiding...and she continued to do so...I was getting annoyed with her bashfulness, so I disturbed her little cave in the sand that she built..to find

She has babies....all of them are still more or less attached to her tail...but GOOD GRIEF...there is a bunch. Anyone wanting one or some when they are "free" of the mamma, and have a little more size... PM me if your interested....

I have three I acquired from a boxer. THey are about and inch now and gold/mottled and aggressive when it comes to live or dead food. I put some roseys in with them so my puffer wouldn't eat them all at once (he can clear his tank of 30 in about 2 hours). Well... before I knew what was happening.. the 5 I had in the cray tank became 2. Each one of the crays had a rosey of her own and was chowing down happily. *shrugs* They have molted OFTEN. I have them in a small tank right now, but have lean-tos and hiding spots. I am excited to see what happens. The guys who sell them online (the ad on craigslist) tried to sell me ONE for a huge amount and then told me I could have to sign a paper stating I would only use them to educational purposes and a few other limitations. I want to see sucess with mine before I state they are the be all and end all. I enjoy watching them grow. When I know more, I can add more... I do like having them.

maybes its almost time!!!

mine was doing that and just hid under the wood all day everyday...then next thing you know it came out and died...

boy I sure hope not...she comes out from where every she is, anytime there is a hint of food being fed, even if nothing gets a chance to hit the bottom...she will do laps round the tank looking.

yeh mine is like a grayish color with some spotted dots on him as well...

is there a way 2 tell them from regular crayfish?i got one with guppys but not 2 sure its the real deal.this ones a vegetarian wont eat anything but alage wafers and is blue in color with dark spots.

The one I got is more grey/black/silver toned....n not sure. Mine eats whatever hits the bottom, an I have guppies, a betta, and plecos in the same tank with no issues of it being mean to anything.

Let's see how much money is leftover after the HAS auction! I was hoping that a boxer had already taken the plunge and could give a report on the crayfish. I was also thinking about having a source for feeders.

I got one at FOTAS....it is in a tank with guppies, swordtails, an red headed tapajos. Not aggressive toward them,very apt to come out for food, not yet cloned itself...but considering the tank mates, may have an got eaten. I like it...

I have them at 1" for $5 ea. I am in Cleburne south of Fort Worth. Got about 50 with mom berried again. These guys grow fast. I got mine when the were about 1" in lated June. The first one berried on 8/2 and was 3" by then. They little guys fight some, I see a claw missing now and then but it grows back as they molt, which is weekly when they are small.

I want to know too... I contacted the first guy who was advertising them on craigslist a LONG while back. He wanted an outlandish amount along with an agreement I wasn't going to sell them. I asked him why he cared what I did with it after I got it since he was already advertising. Needless to say the conversation ended shortly thereafter. I would love to get one or two for my planted tank to potentially take them to school to teach self reproductive animals... but no one around me has any.
