Well I know she has at least 6 tank mates now. Beth came over last weekend and ended up taking 6 guppies! They weren't full grown adults, but between 1-2 months old. Awesome meeting her and glad my guppies have a loving home (not like Troy's death factory! lol). I can't wait to see how their tails and bodies fill in with color!

If it was just the 2 BNP's you would be ok. Add tank mates the bio loud will get high. Pleco's are poop factory's.

Sand of any color is easy to vacuum. With just the hose. White sand is a very clean look.

Can I have 2 bushy nose in the 10gal or would that be too much?

BN plecos generally get around 4 inches in length, so may be a little cramped IMO. if you go by that 1 inch per gal rule its close and that is without tankmates. they will breed, so depends on your filtration. i am sure people do it, but i have not.

the sand does make for easier cleanup since nothing can settle beneath the cracks like gravel. of course my geos just sift through it anyway and i need to stir up the debris they cover anyway. i just used PFS, which is more of a beige color, but always liked the white sand look too.

Do the white sand beth. Debris settles on top so makes it easier to vacuum it up. I just bought some caribsea white sand to go in the 20L I bought today too. IMO white sand looks best.

I love white sand and always wanted to try it even though I figured it would be harder to keep clean. Well that snail in the 10gal is a poop factory. I'll have the cleanest 10gal in the country because I'm obsessed with sucking poo off the bottom!

Troy, can you believe that little stinker of mine is going back and forth from the filter to the tank!! That fish knows how bad I want it and is trying to give me a heart attack, I just know it! Today I sat and watched "her" [asigned sex for now] zipping around the tank and then suck her way into the filter. I could just spank her! LOL

BN Pleco's do like flow. I have had them get in the HOB filter. Found it living and well. My planted tank has lot of flow but on surface agitation at all and no bubbler. I have a breeding pair of long fin albino bristle nose pleco's in the tank.

Thanks Ptran and Troy, that's what I figured. I'm real concerned my little one doesn't have enough oxygen. At least if I add a bubbler my betta won't get blown around by heavy flow.

I just checked on the tank and the water is clear! Yeah! And to my delight there was little bushy nose eating it's algae wafer. I would've thought it would eat during the night. Once I get the frog to eat I'll be completely happy.

I would think so. Pleco is endemic to river and stream which is high oxygen level. I'm using an HOB AC50 for my 10 gallon.

Do I need a blubbler for more oxygen for the pleco? The filter is a whisper and the water flow is very gentle. Seems I've had that whisper for a 100yrs and it's as quiet as a mouse. I have to go look to see if it's even on.

Hmmmmmm, very tempting. Let me get the new tires on the front of my van. You'd die if you saw how bad my front tires are. LOL

Since my cichlids aren't hurting my cory cats do you think a bristle nose would do well in the 75? The socolifi is the only one that tells the corys to move on but he doesn't go after them with the intent to attack.

You could have got Albino long fin Bristle nose from me. I do have some plants too.
