Lol a week would be awesome, but I'm gonna have to build it piece by piece. Still need heater, lighting, and filtration before I can start stocking. Luckily I have plenty of bio media I can transfer over

Sorry dude, don't know enough to recommend one. You are on your own. lol
But I'm thinking shrimp would require some kind of plant cover like java moss.. and requires softer water.

Haha no worries, I'll talk to Roy if I end up going with shrimp. I think the Sulawesi and Neocaridina might work but I'll have to ask around first

If you like cichlids then yes a variety of shellies would work given the long tank for territories.

badis (scarlet have great color)
pea puffers
pygmy sunfish
endlers
pearl danios
rasboras

As much as I love cichlids, you might have got me on the pea puffers. Puffers would keep my lady happy too
