    200g show tank build

Got my new lights today. Here are full tank pics with different light setups for comparison

    (4) 36" 10,000k bulbs

    (4) 36" 10,000k and (4) 36" 18,000k bulbs

    (2) 36" Marineland reed capable LEDs

The color of the led lights is nice, with a good shimmer. Only downside is what I was expecting which is one row of lights does not cover the 24" depth(front to back) of the tank, atleast not to my liking. Will give it a week or two and decide but I'm thinking I will want to add another row of LEDs(but maybe jus the double brights)

Excellent. No worries. Will you sponsor again?

My last competition was in 09 and do not remember which Nutrition Depot sponsored that event.
Unfortuntely my car was broken into this past summer and they took my bag in which I had my gym competition shorts, NDepot fight gloves and the bag that NDepot gave me that night along with other gym related items.
    I lost alot of memories.
When I am around that area I will surely stop by.
My apologies for hijacking thread a bit.

lol, i knew i had seen that truck somewhere but i had to zoom in on it. my coworker andre spends a lot of time in your store, i would stop by but he would try to drag my phat *** into the golds next door.

now that i go back and look at the empty pics i see all those purdy BSN products reflected in the glass. yum.

They had a planted tank version of the reef ready with all 6000k LEDS and that was an impressive fixture. I wish i had bought it but they wanted close to four bills for the four footer.

I might have missed it but what is your store name and location? It would definitely be awesome to see the tank in person!

    Very nice tank.
Did you purchase a check valve, preferably and wye check valve for the overflow returns?
It works wonders for me and user friendly on the maintenance itself.
I also went with black pvc and fittings and balck silicone for my tank as I have drilled holes inside my tank with a black background.
Makes the tank look sooo much cleaner let alone Nick did a fantastic job drilling more holes in my tank.
    Dude your lights are SWEET!!!
    Please update with more pics.
I would love to see this in person as well.
    Thanks for sharing

    Cheers

$200 is pretty good for brand new! They will save you money. LEDs use way less electricity plus they last longer.

Got them on sale, so based on the prices I see for the ecoxotic it would be about the same price or maybe more depending on the amount of strips you bought. Guessing I would need 4-6 of the 36" to be equal to the marinelands

Got the reef capable because I like my tanks bright. Read a lot reviews on the double brights and people either loved them or complained about not being bright enough. Plus, the double bright uses 6500k 1w LEDs while the reef capable uses 10,000k 1w LEDs, and I really prefer the color of the 10,000k.

Marineland reef capable LEDs? Aren't those pretty expensive? You don't really need the reef capable ones for a freshwater tank. After witnessing the Ecoxotic LED Stunner Strips, I'm hooked on them. They have a lot of different sizes and a good variety of color temps to choose from. Not only that, you can daisy chain them which is pretty cool!

Well I bit the bullet and bought (2) 36-48" marineland reef capable led lights. Figured if I like the led's then the money lose selling my current lights will be made up in electric bill savings. Guess one way or another I will have some lights for sale pretty soon, haha.

+1 on heat and cost also it makes the tank dirtier bc of the algae, leds in the other hand are just as bright and produce very little heat and low cost and you could keep them on all day if you wanted to
