I am going to email them today and see whats up. I am going to order a lot of them lol

I just emailed them asking about the zhoui and their suggestions for compatible species; other rhinos and stiphodons. I've got a lot of room for a few different species, I think.

I bought the last of his Zhoui I am waiting to find out Friday if they are getting more in their next shipment.

Thanks man. I was looking around the web and found a guy on aquabid who had 3 pairs of Zhoui for $150. That was a few weeks ago. Now that I have the tank done I'll look around again. Prosper at Aqua Zoo has had good luck finding fish for me. I'll see what he can do.

I am hoping to find out about some more Zhoui Friday right now I only have 2 they are hard to find.... City pets Has some hill stream loaches not sure what species they are though.

Thank you for posting up your latest tank build. I’m curious to know your reason for trying to set up a counter-flow/vertical gyre in your river manifold tank by placing the Eheim intakes on the opposite side of the tank as the manifold system intakes? The original inventor of that system put all the intakes on one side and all the outputs on the other helping to create a unidirectional flow as found in a river or fast flowing stream habitat. That would be the type of habitat preferred by the species you mentioned on your stocking list. By placing the intakes on opposite ends I can see that some vertical circulation effect would be produced—by why would you want it for this tank? The only place I have read about that sort of system would be systems for raising certain pelagic SW species such as sea horse fry grow out tanks and jellyfish tanks. What is your reasoning for wanting it in this tank? I think that due to the relatively short height of the tank relative to its length the larger effect would be a counter flow effect, which would have the net effect of slowing down the unidirectional current in the tank as the water current going one way creates turbulence and resistance to the flow going the opposite way. If you could clarify this for me I would appreciate it.

I've watched a few vids of the systems you mentioned... always on smaller tanks than mine. I wanted to try for a circular (more or less) current with lots of eddies and counter-currents. These currents are often found in rivers where rocks break up the bottom contours. Clear-water trout streams in particular come to mind. I was even thinking of adding a koralia down low on the right side to give more flow along the bottom from right to left. It may seem like a screwy idea, but if it doesn't work out, I can always swap the intakes and powerheads on the bottom manifold to make it all one direction. The risers for those weren't glued in.

I have found that you get a dead spot at the river manifold output... so a little counter flow is good.
