Sand substrate in a high flow tank...

ADA Nile sand is nice and heavy.

I've got a 30g long right now running with a 2213, 2215, and a Tunze Nano-Stream 6025 with Leslie's PFS and it doesn't move at all.
Torpedo Sand is even larger grain, and IMO looks much more ascetically pleasing.

For some reason ADA and pea gravel doesn't sound right. I guess I'm just use to seeing aquasoil or sand substrate.

not sure if i am gonna mix pp gravel in or not. I am not really sure what i am going to do with it.

I am going to run all my flow in one direction... Hoping to pick up some black granite and river stones while in washington...

Ya I saw that...

I'm gonna try to run the surface current along the top from left to right and the bottom from right to left. I'll only have flow output in the top few inches so I'm hoping the current along the bottom will be broken up by the hardscape so that the sand doesn't move too much. I'll likely use leslies pfs.

Just get what you like and let the flow move the substrate and then it'll settle.

I've done much much higher flow rate and had no problems.
