Aquarium in a garage?

I have 5 tanks in the garage and all stay around 82 deg. I wouldn't advise my method of keeping it cool unless you like paying your light bill. I keep the door wide open with a 20 inch fan blowing cold air in from the house.

I wouldnt suggest it without a chiller, I lost 4 fish (wc lufubu) in 3 days due to high temperatures, even with fans and putting frozen milk jugs, the temp still hovered at 89-90 degrees. The fish were miserable and would barely eat, had to treat with clout.

Iv'e seen people put fans above the tank facing down to help keep it cool. You could always kick someone out. Just kidding!! Good luck.

Last summer I was able to keep 3 colonies in my garage and the water temp never went above 84 F. Now this year in June! The only tank I have left went up to almost 90 F so a chiller has to be used to keep the temp low.
So it is possible just keep a close eye on them and keep up with the maintenance.

Is it possible to keep an aquarium in a garage? I would put it in doors but I have too many furniture and all rooms in my house are occupied by a family member.

Is it possible to do it without having to hook up an expensive chiller? What are some precautions I should look out for? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

The tank would be for a Tropheus colony, on a stand and with canopy. I would also put 2x150watt (or 1 300-400watt) heater(s) in the tank for the winter time.
