Pretty sure you have a bunch of useful stuff since you did a few DIY when you're bored.

I have a sheet of plexi in my garage lol..Originally posted by cu0ngsayz View PostCause you have to cut the plexi and us Asian people work with what we have in the garage. Hahahah the thick insulation foam isn't a bad idea if your drain pipe isn't that tall.

i like the Styrofoam idea..! been thinking about what to use to cover it to quiet the splashing noise when over flowing to the siphon/drain side

My post was to point out the key points of an overflow box that added on to what kiko stated. I claimed nothing in this thread and your accusation was faulted by not understanding the statement made.Originally posted by alexrex20 View PostUm, it's still surface skimming. Mine sounds like a flushing toilet if I didn't have a mechanism to make it quiet. The tank is reef-ready so it has the corner overflow chambers. Without the standpipe the waterfall would be dropping 29 inches to get to the bottom. The waterfall alone might be tolerable - like some small rapids in a stream. But the flushing toilet noise is just unacceptable hahaOriginally posted by Kiko View Postwhat ever floats your boat man...

there is in the box inside of the tank... and if you tweak the airline just right, there also surface skimming is on the outside box too... look at the video closely it shows the water swirling... and also the airline hosing causes a little aeration in the drain hose which causes agitation... trust me i thought this out b4 posting... lolOriginally posted by eklikewhoa View PostThat along with surface skimming and added water agitation.
