Nah it can't get stale within this time frame... Turnover rate is less than a week 2 at most which I doubt.

Stale as in sitting water with something deteriorating in it.

how long til water goes "stale"?

mine just sit for most what 10 days but then i use it to top off the tanks... these have caps on them and what not but not air tight...

i dont know if you should throw a whole bunch in there cause then the PH will be way too low? but then again it is a 45 gallon. lol

I was thinking about doing that too but was thinking that stale water with the cones might allow fungus to grow. That's why I wanted to use them in the drum so I can have a powerhead in there to circulate it.

Thanks for the syrup container btw. Gonna bring that over to thebaoster's place and have them fill water for me

i fill up those jugs i get with ro/di and leave it inside the house and just use it for WC

filled up 3 of them plus a regular bucket for about 5hrs tonight. FML.

im prolly just gonna toss like 3-4 into the tank and go from there...hopefully magic beans will do its job!

I got a 45g drum outside and I was thinking of just running filtered tap and maybe a percentage or RO/DI and toss a few cones in there too for my water changes.

Yeah I got it the other day, have one in the tank already.

thebaoster got some too but not sure if he's using his for the same reasons. I will be cleaning out the water barrel later tonight to see if it's cleaned out yet and probably start aging water.
