Have you tried Trev or whatever on MFK? I seen some blackies listed recently but with a male like that I would just breed those bad boys and hoard them!

12" disc doesn't seem too big.... [Looks down at tile floor]... Have you seen that female go after any live fish?

There are some that do it and it works but not as efficient or controllable.

I would just run fans across the water surface but gotta watch the evaporation rate... then again in Houston I wouldn't do eiter... CONSTANT DRIP SYSTEM!

run a bybass and coil the tubing long enough and you got a red neck chiller lol

I think it does a little :) I have an alarm set to monitor my temperature. The tank does have a chiller but I only turn it on only when i really really need it. The chiller cost 1/4 of the damn tank :oP

How big do you think she is?
I thought you knew that she is big. I am expecting my ray to start breeding around this time next year. My last pair of motoro breed at 13". The current motoro is 12" ish, the two largest pair leopoldi are also 12", 2 medium are 10" and the smallest(most expensive) is 8" My male is not "developed" yet :( even at 12" and I cant find a replacement.

I cannot find any reliable supplier for these black rays. Most or almost all of them are either scammers even well known supplier turn rogue. I got scammed almost 4 time and Lost 7 black rays in the whole process. 1st time, they send me some mutts, 2nd time, They took my money and disappear. 3rd time, lived for 2 days and die from stress of shipping. 4th time, I received sick and dying rays. 4th time they got lost and airport cant find it.

Therefore, these black rays are not going anywhere until i recover my lost :)

    Yes, I agreed. You will need at least 30" or 36" W. My next tank will be 120" x 36" x 30"

And from the DIYs the plywood ones dont even seem that hard to make. It's more time consuming and patients more then anything because you have to go over the epoxy(I think that's what you use to bond) over and over again then like several coats of some type of paint? Idk I'll have to look more into it
