Cichlids in a 20 Gallon long?

Fish Land usually has lace rock or holey rock for good price. I visit them once in a while and check out the rock crop. Sometimes they have nice pieces.

Nepco down near HAW is supposed to be decent. Honestly, try landscaping supply companies, those ones that are open air and have lots of rockpiles. They are cheap usually, its just about finding the right size stones usually

Are there types of stones I should avoid that affect water quality or anything like that?

i went to champion stone in spring...depends what you are looking for really, but their website is a good start. have all different size stones. i bought a 55 lbs bag of 1-2" buff rock for like $18. thats whats in my shrimp tank in other threads and gave me lots to choose from in the bag. still have about half of it in my garage

How about in Southwest Houston? I live about 5-10 minutes west of T&T, so Spring would be a good hour one way. I will stop by ADG tomorrow and Josh said he could show me what they have, I just know it will be pricey. I guess we'll see tomorrow. If you know of any other stores closer to me, let me know please!!!

Depends on the desired colors/types of rocks. ADG has a great selection, as does That Aquarium Place and Fish Gallery. Also some rockyards (landscaping companies) sometimes are hit and miss, but usually cheaper in cost.

Brichardi are not too large and a single pair would do fine. They are rockdwellers, so a decent amount of hardscape is really needed to keep them feeling safe. The issue is in breeding, they breed quite readily and are usually easy. In the wild they are found in schools of thousands upon thousands and lacking any predators they will just keep breeding uncontrollably. I have seen then take over Tang tanks slowly and eventually driving everything else out of their domain.

So true about they would build a dynasty and eventually take over the tank. They killed my 10 beautiful Telmatochromis which were no match for them in term of aggressiveness.
