This is my dominant male. My son has named him Thor. He's not the biggest but he is starting to show the cherry spots, and claimed his territory along with the dancing for the ladies. He won't sit still under the light for a photo. These guys are starting get a little more bullet proof. They are eating some mysis, brine shrimp, and and occasional live freshwater copepods from a freshwater refugium on top of the omega one sinking pellets. 2 meals a day. I don't know what I'll do once they grow out. They are fun to watch. I might grow out a different species, or start up a rainbowfish tank.

The plan was to keep atleast 2 species. The fish are still small. I've got about 8 months to scheme.

This guy kept 59 troph colony in a 30G long. So I'm sure you can keep 19 in that 55G with adequate filtration.

You can totally get away with a 55/75 with only 15. Just beef up on filtration and flow, and cut down on scape

you can probably get away with using a 75g

My wife won't allow a bigger tank. They are in a 55 to grow out. You can't keep an adult group in that. They need at least a 6 ft long 120+. Or at least I've never kept them as adults in anything less.

I want to keep them. It's gonna be a tank size issue. It's an issue of my wife letting me get an adequate size tank. I love tropheus. Lost a lot at the begining, probably stress, but these guys are solid. I made a mistake in my earlier post. They are eating omega one veggie waffers. I throw 2 in twice a day and they go to town. These guys are just fat! A few are starting to get a faint hint of pink.

Once they start coloring up you may change your mind and decide to keep them...Josiah got me some high quality cherry spots last year that were stunning once they colored up...
