LOL, I need the post count fool! It would be a 2262 and a FX5/6 for a 150 planted. Though the Fahaka does make quite the mess.

I think this topic was settled last year. In July. Somebody bumped it up and the Eheim/FX5 pi$$ing contest resumes. Way to go...

LOL, agreed whole heartily. Its actually a secondary filter in Suki's tank, so its already running a 2262. All it really has to beat is a 2217 and if it can't beat that its not the filter I thought it was... Now if I am correct a FX6 is basically a FX5 with media and a few non needed bells and whistles. I know the flow rates are listed differently, but I seem to recall the FX5 flowrate was based upon it not having media in it, so not actually as different in the actual end or am I incorrect?

"Taking the leap" only applies to sumps. 2260/2 and FX5/6 are just canisters... in the realm of timid steps.

I have been wanting to try an FX5/6, might just have to make the leap...

I own both and the FX5 is a better mechanical filter...hands down. The Ehiem has no match biologically.

Don't understand why it should be noisey at all. Mine only has noise from the water flow. No noise
at all from unit. Shouldn't have to fool with bolts that secure pump at all. And clamps that secure top are way easer than fx5,and better designed.
I have two and they are both quiet,I sleep in same room with them and cann't hear them.Last edited by waterdog; 07-18-2013, 04:02 AM.
