That exactly what was done, though there is driftwood and fake hollow logs in the mix. The fish don't seem to mind. The juhlis just LOVE the caves and crevices. The shells are only there for the shell dwellers. There is also some bn plecos, a red tailed blue botia, a synodontis angellicus and a synodontis ocellifer in there as well. The subtrate is a mix of old blue aquarium gravel (looks aqua due to its age) mixed with coral gravel.

HeY! It was originally a mbuna tank. They passed away during Ike. I got trophs from the geeks. The trophicide took its toll. It's mostly a juhli and shellie tank now.
