I would recommend holding off on the D800 until they get the left AF focus point issue resolved..
I have it on my D800 and it is frustrating..

I am holding sending it off to Nikon until there is confirmation that they have a fix for it.

I have a Nikkor 105 f/2.5 AI lens that is probably the sharpest lens ever made if you are interested..
