  • considering what to do with a 15 gallon

Okay, so I have this 15 gallon (24x12x12). I'm thinking a small school of cardinal tetras and a German blue ram. Any suggestions on another fish to add? One that will do well without a school, but is peaceful enough to get along? I wish I could get a female ram, but I don't want the territorial aggression if they decide to breed. Also, keeping it South American would be nice, but isn't necessary.

Whatever you suggest, how many cardinal tetras should I get considering the combination?
Trogdor was a man. Or maybe he was a dragon man. Or maybe he was just a dragon. But he was still TROGDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOR!

You know, fish are great. I love my fish. But what I really want is a monkey.

I love that 15g. It's my favorite tank. The dimensions are great because it's 24", and you don't have to look high and low to find lighting for it. And it's not tall like the 20H, so you can really go crazy with plants. There are so many options for it, but it's still small enough to be my kinda tank. :)

I would suggest, along with your cardinals and ram, a school of corydoras. Best catfish ever, incredibly cute, tons of personality, active almost all the time, and there are so many species that everyone can find one that suits their liking. :)

I gave my parents a 15g for Christmas (they asked for it, Bwahaha!) and stocked it with 10-12 Emperor Tetras (can't remember exact numbers right now), 10 Panda cories, and a small pleco. They love it! And it does really well.

Edit: Sorry, forgot about the cardinals. I would suggest at least 10. :)

Aw crap... I put this in the wrong forum, lol. If someone can move it to the general forum, I'd appreciate it.

Anyway, that's really cool, Mzungu, but isn't that a lot of fish to keep in there? How do you manage that?

And how much of a school for the corydoras? And then how many cardinals? I like that you can keep so many as you've done and it seems promising to me that I can keep more cardinals than I thought I could.
