Hi! New to this forum.

While I am here posting a photo of my tank, I'll drop one here in the pond section. This photo was taken this Spring after a liner swap, this is my Pond 2.0 :)

Many kinds, but nothing rare. Several hardy lilies (white, pink and yellow) and one large tropical lily. Some Anacharis (which I don't want and try to remove a few times a year), Arrowheads, Water Clovers, Sweet Flag, Aquatic Mint, yellow Iris, purple Iris, horsetail rush, goldsrike rush, lizard tail, canna, taro, plus many types non-aquatic plants around the waterfall.

Feb 15, 2009 update

Was a nice day today so I snapped some pics of the pond, not too bad for the middle of February.

One of the big projects around here last year was the flagstone patio, so I tried to capture part of it in this photo.

Thanks, the patio was tough work! It was a long weekend project that also consumed the following weekend. A few friends and family dropped in from time to time to help out. Rented a cement mixer, bought I-can't-remember-how-many 80lb backs of concrete mix, and had the rock delivered from Champions. Next time I will hire somebody to do this! There is definitely pride in your own work but it was a lot harder than we had anticipated.

Regarding the pond maintenance regime: I do as little as possible! Unfortunately the pond is pretty much in full sun, so I use AlgaeFix every 3 or 4 days in the summer but don't need it right now. The Waterfall is an Atlantic Pond Skimmer and BioFalls Combo, you can see the skimmer box opposite the waterfall. I take out the filter mat whenever the skimmer pump makes a sucking noise and spray it from the back side with a high pressure hose to clean it.. this is usually once a week. The pump in the skimmer is a Luguna Powerjet Skimmer Pump. Less than 140 watts for almost 3000 GPH, that's pretty impressive. I should have sprung for better skimmer but oh well. The secondary system is a Laguna Powerflo Max Sub Filter at the bottom of the pond connected to a Canister filter buried next to the back of my house all driven by a submersed mag 12. I only clean that secondary filtration system when it stops working. The pressurized canister filter is too small for the pond but the price was right (free). I re-pot the pond plants in the spring, which I actually started to do yesterday (anyone need some common hardy Lilly bulbs?). I got up to my knees in the pond yesterday.. now that's cold! I probably have about 30 pots in there so it is quite an undertaking. I push fert tabs in them once a month... yeah right.. I am supposed to do that anyways. I feed the fish when I get a chance. They are wide enough so I assume that they get enough I replaced the liner last year as I had a cheap PVC liner in there before which was deteriorating.

The lessons learned are get the best liner and get filter equipment rated for a much larger pond. Going cheap always ends up costing twice as much and is 4 times the work.

What would you like for the bulbs?
