I was thinking of running a reactor on my freshwater 65g setup mainly for carbon. Has anybody had any experience with reactors and freshwater? I know it shouldn't be be a issue with just running carbon and I do have a spare reactor to use and carbon. I just wanna know if it will be a waste of time? Lmk what you think!!

what are you doing this for?
For tanning removal/water quality - i would use purigen.
For Bio purpose due to high nitrate - I would use kaldness like K1.

I guess you can say both for now. Just got the setup and the stand really dont have space for a canister.

I built a couple of denitrifying reactors and haven't had nitrates in quite a while. Purigen or the upgraded Purfiltrum are both much more efficient at removing organics than carbon by far.
