On a more serious note, can you tell newcomers what to expect at the upcoming auction?

It's pretty easy Mike. They set up 4 areas with tables for sellers to put they bags of fish, plants, or what ever. They start at one side and end at the other. you can walk around and look befor you bid. It's a lot of fun and sometimes lucrative.

I think I will be a buyer. Can't do both.

Its easy to do both. You check in, tell them the number of items that you have (hopefully your paperwork is filled out already). They give you stickers, you put your items on the tables based on sticker color. Then you look around and wait for the auction to start.

Funny thing, I always go as a seller but always buy something. The rules are here some place. I think.

The auction rules can be found here:
                      http://houstonaquariumsociety.org/Auction_Forms/Auction%20Rules.jpg,
but in general, it is $5 to bid, and if you sell items, you get 75%, with 25% going to the Society.
The auction begins at 11 AM, but check-in begins at 10 AM.

I recommend that if you plan to sell items, that you fill out a seller sheet. This seller sheet can be found here:
                      http://houstonaquariumsociety.org/Auction_Forms/SELLERP1.pdf

No one saying what they're bringing? I sure could use some branchy driftwood for my 75, hint hint!
