I'm a long time member here.
I used to be on here every day at least 4-5 times.
Now i come on here once a month or maybe longer.
My main reason is i'm not into tropheus , and they seem to have taken over Houston a few years ago.
I'm a central/south American cichlid guy and there really isn't to many of us around Houston.
And the ones that are ..are into Geos. only.

Crash, I am relatively new and most of my fish are South American. I would appreciate your frequent input.

However, my plants are native to many parts of the world. No biotope here.

Biotopes are cool and all ..but my fish destroy everything that's not bolted down..
Breeding pairs of Midas [male is over 15-16"] breeding pair of jaguars..[both about 12"].
              A Green Texas [10"] and a Black Belt [10"] In my 180.
Pretty much just some big rocks and flower pots.
I am in the middle of re doing some other tanks that i am thinking of doing some plants.
I am doing an angel fish tank right now and i have a convict breeding project ..once i find a new female.

It is true that most the SA. keepers like Geo's.. They can be very pretty fish. There is not a lot of aquatic plant life in the Amazon.

I knew that there were South American jaguars (the mammal) but no nothing about the fish called jaguar. It is this kind of information that causes me to look up fish I do not know and do some research. You never know, some of these fish may belong in my tank.

Convicts were one of the most common fish in the aquarium trade in the 60s and 70s.

They are still very abundant now due to their "breeding like rabbit" style. lol

you cant even get rid of convict fry easily. stores usually take the adults. I traded my large male to FG a long ways back. but juvies most say "will take for free as a convenience" or they just refuse them.
