I moved all the old fish into the main tank to create a quarantine tank. Honestly, I was concerned because I saw more dead fish at this place than I thought you should see, our have seen, at other lfs. So I wanted to play it safe. Initially I had a group of 5, which was cut down to 4. Then a few days later I added 6 more, again one died so I was at 9 when I went to work this morning. Now I'm at 7, since I lost 2 more today. I hadn't tested water yet, but I will tonight. It just seemed very odd to me since the previous fish were fine in that tank. The fish were a little skiddish at first, but now when they see me they know it's cool and don't try to hide. So maybe they were a little stressed at first, but they seem fine to me. Just swimming around with each other, except for 2 that just hang out by the heater. They have the same markings and colors and they just hang out by the heater except when food goes in. That was one that I said looked iffy and died today. His friend is still just hanging out there, so I am concerned about him. Also, could it be a problem that they are all males?

Crizz, hope you don't mind me asking this on your thread, but do fancy guppies have a tendency towards weakness?

LOL I swear you are a case!

It does seem odd that we're both having so much trouble after visiting there but I don't know. I do know that this weekend I will be getting another spare 10gal out of the garage and setting up a QT tank like I should have to begin with. I'm pretty ticked at myself.

It's good idea to have a QT. You don't want to put a sick fish into a tank full of expensive fish.

Like your Tropheus or Moba! Of course it would cost a good penny for me to replace all of my guys too, especially the grown ones. It's just not worth it.

Well, once you attach to them emotionally, it's priceless!

Very true. When my parrots and big acei die I believe it will be as bad as when one of my dogs has passed. it's always interesting to me how we can become so attached and love something so much that we can't hug or interact with on a real personal level. I love all of my fish but I've had my parrots and Big Blue the longest. Well, some of the loaches were here first but you know they're not across the room staring me down right now. LOL People don't believe me when I tell them that some of my kuhli loaches are 10-11yrs old but I have no reason to lie.
