Studying and researching your desired species, is a real must.
On a side note, Roy just made a new Dagon. Congrats bro lol!!!

I just want something simple to be honest. I used to have cichlids in a 55. I'll probably end up just keeping

        Peacocks
        electric yellows
        red zebras
        Electric blues
        kenyis
        venestus
        demasonis

And whatever else I see that I like lol

I remember keeping all of these and did pretty good

I'm getting confused with the names of the fishes now. I'm trying to make a list of what other fishes I can keep with peacocks. I want peacocks for sure, just trying to see what else I'd be able to keep with them.

If you're keeping peacocks look into other Haplochromines. Some good options are Protomelas, Placidochromis, Lethrinops, Copadichromis and Nimbochromis

Which ones are the more colored ones? People also tell me I can keep mbunas with them, just to keep them smaller than the peacocks

all of the ones austy listed are pretty colorful. its just a matter of figuring what you like. google gives lots of images. some are more iridescent, some more bi-color, etc. but all are good choices with vibrant colors.

people normally do peacocks/haps or mbuna. they can mix, but mbunas can get rather aggressive when breeding or just territorial. more so need a larger group of mbunas to keep eachother in check. peacocks also can get those nice long fins, and mbunas will trim them up. i only have one peacock with my mbunas, and he can get nasty, so he seems to fit right into the group.

not that peacocks wont fight among eachother either. its in their nature.

If you want nice peacocks, don't mix them with Mbuna. Mbuna can be very nasty IMPE.

Gotcha, I'm just going for the peacock/hap tank.

Loaches should do OK with these correct?
