  • yellow tail acei fry

I have a female that has been holding for about a week now. I'm not exactly sure when the spawning took place I just noticed her not eating one day and I looked at her close and could tell she had a fat chin. So I was able to catch her and isolate her in a breeding net. Now should I just leave her alone and let her spit them out or go ahead and strip them so I can let her loose back to the tank. this is my first time with a cichlid tank and I can't believe I got fry already. also what's the best food to feed the fry. And does any one need any once big enough.

I strip after 2-3 weeks. I feed the fry crushed flake food. Just be careful with the net, I have had big cichlids eat through the cloth nets and kill the babies that way. I prefer the plastic breeder containers if that makes sense.
