Cotton mouth and Koi

A 6# Koi is missing from my pond. Raccoons have not taken any fish I know of in 15+ years . (I say he was 6# because I accidently killed 4 siblings two years ago and they weighed 5# ). I saw a cotton mouth at the edge a few weeks ago ; it was nearly dark, when I got back with a light and a "snake tool" he was gone. Never saw a cotton mouth in my yard in 20 yr; copperheads are common and no problem. I have occasionally seen other smaller snakes. The cotton mouth was 1.5 to 2 " diameter ( ? long). Since they can swallow muskrats and squirrels I am guessing he could swallow the Koi. Any opinions ?

Doesn't mean it happened in your case, but I've seen a .5" wide moccasin drag a 2 pound perch out of the water
