  • Help with Famula

sup fellas? So I picked up a trio of Famula "Cameroon bay". That's the name that I got for the guy I got them from. Problem now is I want to add more to my group and can't find this "Cameroon bay" on any fish list. Is this just a name someone made up to male them sound more "important" or "rare"? I've seen this done before. To me they look like chimba but I want to be sure that I'm right before adding chimba to this group. Can anyone help with the proper id of this fish? I don't have great pics just from my iPhone. Hope this helps. Thanks in advance!

Looks very similar to Chimba. According to suephoto.com, they have a little bit of blue on the fins which is kinda noticeable on the pics you posted. Geographically, Chimba and Cameron Bay are pretty close as well

Thanks Man! So I guess my main question is this. If I added chimba to my trio of Cameron bay. Is that considered a cross? I'm totally against crossing or mixing breeds so I don't want to risk doing that. But I'm curious in this case how is this handled?

I don't think it's a cross. Same thing like Tropheus sp. Red Lunangwa South and sp. Red Kalambwe. Could be as simple as that where somebody picked one name over the other.

Funny thing is up here it seems like I'm the only one that has them. Weird how that happens. There's gotta be someone down there moving a group. Hit me up
