  • Galveston peppermint vs tank raised peppermint

Is there something that I need to know about Galveston peppermint shrimp before adding it to my system? I saw that some people were looking for Galveston ones. Is there a reason why?

I read this thread a while back when I decided to use peps to get rid of aiptasia. The ones I got were true peps. The rest in the tank were true as well.

I wasted $30 on store bought peps never again... but have not had any luck on getting any over in Galveston on my last trip last weekend will be trying again on the 4th or 5th. and maybe watch some fireworks from the jetty....

Galveston Peps sure do know how to eat those nasty aptisia's.

What happened to this thread? I'd love some Galv. peps. myself.
39g Crypt/ anubias, wild shrimp and minnows.

55g Reef- first salt in many many years, coming along. Looking great, and stable. Garden mix of soft/lps corals. DIY refugeum

20g Reef- different than the first by design.

Don't know... I was never able to get back to Galveston during the times I wanted to go and try again. Went two times with no luck of getting any Galv. Peps. and with the weather getting cooler not sure if you can collect them during cooler weather.
