  • My Lil Fish Tank >Video<

Been runing over a YR and a half now. Had a little issue with some fish Dying a while back but everything has been running smooth now. Really to the point where I just sit back and Enjoy her now. Still get a lot of WOW's when people come over and people also SWEAR its a saltwater tank...ha ha

Still running those 3 X 35 Automotive HID kits for my lighting. Had a bulb that went out and cost me 20 bucks for 2 new bulbs and no real issues since then. Also added a couple 120MM computer fans in the canopy to help circulate air up there because it does get warm. I still cant believe how much water evaporates in just a few days. Literaly over 5 gallons. Thats crazy.

    Anywho...Here is the vid

I had my tank running at 80F and evaporation was about 5gal a day with glass tops. There's no canopy and the lights are hanging with fans blowing upward. It was ridiculous, so I dropped the temp to about 72F and I only lose about 1/2-1gal a day. Much more bearable. That way I don't have to keep filling up the sump.

I might have to do the same. I was actually gonna have a trickles system always adding water. I do keep my water warm, with fans in canopy and water flowing through my 55gallon sump, so it's no wonder it seems like a hole in my tank. Might lower the temp like u mentioned. Easy fix.
