ive been using for about 2-3 weaks now... its works like a BEAST!!! water is very sparkly and clear... my tap is very bad smells like straight chlorine but when i run it through this at a medium rate it has close to no smell of chlorine at all

Just a suggestion, replace the activated carbon with catalytic carbon, we have chloramines in our water and activated carbon is useless for remove that poison (for our fish). Maybe add a second chamber for better performance, Great job btw.

if i add C.carbon... it will defeat the purpose off a cheap build... all together i spent 55$ on this DIY...

if u decide to upgrade kiko i have been thinking about looking into some of the calgon centaur cat carbon. 1 bag should be good for at least 4-5 snakes ala fshfrk (I think) so maybe we can get a group buy. i have lots of chloramines out my way too....it aint cheap tho

how many gallons is the tank you are treating? if i make it smaller lets say 50% would it make big difference or would it be the same. my water isnt that bad but it is not clear.

its not about the price. $60 its a nice price. size reduction because of storage space. and i thought maybe a big one is to treat alot of water and since i have a small tank a smaller one would work too.

i imagine your water could be totally free of sediment and still be chock full of chlorine / chloramine. dont let the clarity fool ya rick.
