low light requirement coral would work with that light.

It's a coralife knockoff but looks to be a well made one.

How many watts do you think I need? I asked people on other sites and they said 160wats for low light and 200 for others

Does the fixture have independant reflectors?
I ate my fish that died.

You could change the two actinics to 10k and it would work for low light requirement corals if placement is right.

I doubt it since he's looking at knockoff fixtures.

thats a pretty vague estimate. what are you interested in keeping? that 4 bulb t-5 could keep some lower light corals and maybe more light demanding stuff if kept high in the tank. i would suggest more like 500-600 w on your 55g and you can keep pretty much anything if placed at the right level in your tank.

I have more than that on my booboo low light fw planted tank.... I would imagine recreating the sun over a reef tank would be more ideal.
