  • Newbie here. Saying Hello

    aquarium101a.jpg

I have a FOWLR 70 gallon, 36" long x 25" tall x 18" deep with a wet/dry trickle filter with bio ball filtration. I'm hoping to manage this and grow enough to begin a 55 gallon reef aquarium as well in the future.

Again, this was to say "Hello."

Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

My tank has been up and running for about 9 months with saltwater. It was freshwater prior. I wasn't exactly sure I could handle a saltwater aquarium, so I have taken real slow so far. Nemo hasn't died yet, so maybe their is a chance a can keep a saltwater tank alive. Nemo, sand and filter have been in place, but the base rock is all new. I was hoping for a NEMO theme for my children. Hopefully, with a little input from the box, I can add a few more fish and some plants real soon.

What are the facts? Again and again and again--what are the facts? Shun wishful thinking, ignore devine revelation, forget what "the stars foretell", avoid opinion, care not what the neighbors think, never mind the unguessable "verdict of history"--what are the facts, and to how many decimal places? You pilot always into an unknown future; facts are your only clue.

I see you have a bubble wand or airstone going in the background. Do you have a skimmer attached? I have found that fine bubbles without additional skimming produces nice thick froth on the surface of the water.

I do have a wand going in the back. Not sure if I should keep it or not. I do not have a problem with any froth, although my return line sprays out right there as well. Not sure if that has any effect.
