Long story but here's a pic of the colony of yellow muragos I had before they collapsed.

Personally, I think Green Murago should be called Lusingu and then Yellow Murago should be called Moba II like in the Aqualog.

Otherwise, if ITS GOT LARGE SPOTS ON THE HEAD ITS MURAGO!!!

I am pretty much positive lighting is a major factor.

'Bout time someone besides me brought up the lighting.

And how do you turn one brown - use flash - complete screws up the color of the fish.

Seems like there maybe two other types of murago founded...This has been posted by Mark on TF.

"In the same vein i've recently seen some interesting stuff with Murago. I got a few loads of these and thought i had a good idea of what they looked like - then all of a sudden a large group turned up with JET BLACK tail fins...the kicker being the black went a good third of the way up the fishs body. It was a very striking fish. Not all of them but a good percentage. The first time i saw them i remember thinking too myself "wow those look different for murago"."

And this has been posted by Gernot on trophs.

"There's a brown variant of the Murago as well. I saw them in 2007 and they look great, for me better than the yellow variant. "

                Pictures taken by Gernot.

Wonder if anyone has the updated aqualog to see if this has been documented or just wanting to get opinions from the tropheus experts on this issue.

                Thanks guys.

That's interesting because a lot of the females that I had in my colony possessed this type of coloration, where as the males had the yellow stripes and coloration like that picture I posted earlier. Hmm....

yeah DD made a good point on the other forum. He said lighting can make a fish look totally different.

I would have to agree with DD on this point.
