  • Refresh Problems?

So this is just slightly slightly annoying. Nothing major. Anyways when I get bored I like to browse the New Posts section. I click on and read a couple and then I like to click refresh to see which ones I haven't yet seen (I tend to read them out of order depending on how interesting they look). Usually when I click refresh the ones I have looked at will not be bold anymore and only the ones I haven't looked at will still be bold. Recently when I press the refresh button they all stay bold even though I have looked at them already and there are no new posts in the threads. It's not only the new thread/posts but all of the threads/posts. Is this just me or are other people having the same problem?

I'm not sure what could be causing your refresh issue, but I normally just hit new posts and not refresh and it keeps the ones I have already looked at greyed out and bolds the one with new posts or that I haven't looked at.
Reasoning with some people is like trying to nail jello to a wall...

Well I randomly alternate between pressing the refresh and the New Posts buttons. I get the same thing. The posts still aren't "greying" out as you put it. :?

EDIT: Well now only about half of the posts I view are greying out.

Are you logged in when you are doing this? Or are you viewing as a guest? You also might check your cookie settings. The session info is stored in the cookies on your machine. I don't think you get the same kind of cookie when you are viewing as a guest, but I could be wrong.

Seriously...I go by the envelopes in the first column. A sealed envelope means I've been there and don that. An open envelope means I haven't viewed it yet or since someone else posted.

            Hope that helps.

Well I am in the same boat.. I look at bold messages vs non-bold messages
When you hit refresh, it should delete the messages that you have already read.. but what I am thinking is that it will not erase messages until a few minutes have gone by as the session is a state.. ie stop doing what I do.. read quick through the message and then hit refresh quick.. let the session drop and then it should refresh correctly.. but that is my two cents and not anyones elses pocket change.

Yay! It's working. I cleared out my cookies [wish I had some real ones ] I think. I'm not too terribly tech savvy but I catch on pretty quickly. Then it logged me out of the Box and I had to login again. Lucky for me I forgot my password and had to reset it to login (wrote it down this time ). And now it works!! I have never cleaned out my cookies so I guess that was the problem. Anyways, thanks for the help guys!
