  • Carbon Bottles

I will be upgrading my carbon bottle soon and wanted to see if anyone wanted to get one with me.

The one I am planning on getting is a Full cubic foot of G.A.C. carbon in a 9x48 inch polyglass media tank. Tank has an almond jacket and is equipped with a bypass valve.

Price right now is about $400 shipped per.

Here's a picture of the unit.

About how many gallons do you think that bottle will filter before the carbon needs to be replaced. I guesstimate that I do about 2,000 gallons of waters changes per month?

Well.... ADG had one about 1/3 this size and he said he hasn't replaced the carbon since the day he started the comp.

Mine is about 1/4 maybe even 1/5 of this one and I have had it for about a year now? I do 100% water changes twice a week and for about half the time I owned it I had two 6ft tanks. Still haven't bothered with the carbon and still haven't lost any fish after a water change.

I know it doesn't sound as impressive or cool, but could you maybe use another word like enthusiast in stead of XXXXX

                        Thanks again... :)

Truth is the cement that holds the bricks and stones of a sane and civilized society together. Remove the former and the latter will crumble.
