Does anyone know a good design for a Kreisel Tank? (the kind that spins water round and round to keep it's inhabitants suspended in water)

I'm thinking of building one out of a 10 gal tank, but have yet to find a good design.
I know they are available commercially. But i'll have to sell my kidney to be able to afford one of those.

I'm lookin to experiment with breeding lower order shimp which requires the larvae to be suspended in water.
Might also be useful later if my seahorses decide to get frisky.

    Tanks! (so to speak)

          Re: Kreisel Tank Design

Ok.. well i had nothing better to do Christmas eve... so i decided to build the kreisel.

I have an old 10 gal lying around and an empty 5 gal water cooler jug so i thought i'd use those:

Next, i hack of the top and bottom of the water jug so that i have a cylinder.

Then i cut a section out of the circumference which will eventually the open top of the kreisel.

Next, a hole is cut out of the cylinder. This will be the water outlet from the main brood chamber.

And then a fine mesh over the hole to prevent the inhabitants from escaping the brood chamber.
I used a larger mesh for this particular one because i'll be using it for my Reidi Seahorses. The one for the shrimp will have a 44 micron (rotifer) mesh.
The "Glue" is 2 part epoxy. Not very pretty.. but hey.. it works.

Here it is in the 10 gal, waiting to be siliconed to the sides.

And here it is..... it's first test run.
                  Looks good... i think.....
Questions or comments for improvements are welcomed.

I use a 5 gal water cooler jar to make a Kreisel tank for my Reidi Seahorses or any larval fish.

'Dear Lord,' the minister began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face. 'Without you, we are but dust ...'
He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four-year old girl voice, 'Mom, what is butt dust?'

                        looks good!

I was expecting the water movement to be slower... but Thats more a factor of the pump your using then anything else.

I know this is for freshwater stuffz .. but since i've started it, i thought i'd post an update on what my kreisel tank has been doing since the build.

                          New Inhabitants:
Finished the Kreisel just in time... my male Reidi released his babies and now they get to try my brand spanking new DIY Kreisel.

                          Close up of new inhabitants:
Close up and size comparison of 3 day old Reidi fry.

I know this is a really old post but did any of the fry make it? I have attempted to raise seahorses before but never got them on to foof larger than baby brine and they would die after reaching about 1/2 in length.
