  • New from Canada

Hello everyone.  Saw a link to this site on another fish forum and thought would be great to learn more about fish and so forth so thought would join.  I have two outside ponds that are put away for the winter.  The goldfish come inside and live in two indoor ponds(one pond goes outside for the summer,is a cattle trough.), plus have 2 aquariums, with plans to get more.  This summer hope to put more fish outside so will need more containers come fall.  Have had this setup going for almost 5 years now.  Thanks for letting me join and hi to everyone on here.

Welcome Hiker! Thanks for joining. Are you in Houston now or are you still in Canada? It certainly sounds like you've got a great start on your hobby.

Welcome aboard Hiker. You will like the climate here in Houston. I keep fish year around in ponds and in tubs seasonally for the summer as well.

Still in Canada.  The weather here is brrrrr cold....still have a foot of snow and we get above freezing  during the day about noon but then cools off again.  I can usually put my fish out in April or May

Yes we get a handful days with freezing weather each winter and it  might not go below 28 all winter. I remember it snowed here three or four times and stuck to the ground but I am 54 years old. People down here drive crazy when it snows because they don't know what it is. I put my guppies out in totes about April or May.
