  • Small pond?

I have this tub/water bucket thing that I used for 2 baby caimen. I rehomed the caimen and its been sitting in the garage for the past year.

Will it work as a small pond? I placed the 5 gallon bucket for size reference.

    Thanks

It should considering that I've seen container gardens smaller. Just find fish used to the heat and use lots of plants to help with water quality/shading.

I have one on my balcony... for plants mainly though... its about 10 gallons and the water is covered with floating plants... so much so that I have to thin them out this weekend... I'd also make sure to get plants that do well in hotter water because it'll get pretty warm unless you plan to bury it...

And if there's any direct sunlight on it, paint the outside white to reflect heat.

What type of filtration would be needed?

Depends what you're gonna keep and how many and what kind of plants you have also!

I usually stuck a powerhead in mine or a canister, either should be more then enough for that size
