  • Tysons livebearer's thread - New pics up :)

    Hey guys/girls
i want to create a single thread dedicated to my livebearers and future livebearers to come. I rather keep it all in one thread then creating heaps everytime i have new photos :)

Well guys, ive had tropical fish now for 2months im still getting used to water maintaince im getting there though, i started off with a 28liter tank. With 2females and 3 males + otto cat which all have died exect guppy fry and otto cat. Because i rushed into it and didnt cycle my tank. Thankfully enough now the tanks on its final stages, ammonia is fine now just wsiting for nitrite and trates to settle down.

heres my 28liter tank for the fry. Sitting below my 6ft tank. (project tank)

i have pics of my fry here

    eating sinking alge food :)
    stealing Mr otto cat's food

3weeks old eating cucumber, there pigs!

    eating brine shrimp

As you can see i try to feed them as much high qaulity food as i can. Il contiue to feed them like this eeven as adults
Il be uploading more pics as they grow up and as i purchase different fish :)

I hope you enjoy, i look forward to learning heaps and sharing photos with you guys/girls. I want people who are begginers like me to have a good read and learn along with me expressing my research and learning along with me by expeirenced aquarium keepers. Also i will be making a journal on my build for my 6ft tank so stay tuned Again this is my dedicated thread to livbebearers.

I plan on having a many different types of livebearers not just guppies so as i learn il get more as i go on. I plan on having and breeding ,

    - Guppies
    - Mollies
    - Platys
    - Swordtails
    -Danios
    - Tetras

    Again ,

          Re: Tysons livebearer's thread

i need another tank. Going to put it under the 6ft . Planning on getting another 2 one for female livebearers and males and another down the track for shrimp.

My guppy fry are already getting older and need to seperate asap.

or would it be ok to leave my fry in the 28ltr for an extra couple weeks?
          cheers

If you don't want the juv. Guppy's to breed you need to seperate. If you don't care if they do. then you don't need to.

What other fish are you looking to get?

Cool. Are these any particular type of guppy/livebearer? BTW, setup looks good. I like the open stand with tanks underneath.

Depends on your ultimate goals. If you'd like to grow some plants that require a moderate amount of lighting than I'd go with a T5HO. If your fancy is to grow low light plants, then LED all the way. Personally I prefer T5HO, but may be a convert soon enough.

                            ok thanks

i want to have a nice planted tank so i may have to go high output t5ho.
Or since im a begginer i may just throw in some easy growing plants that do not require co2

I guess with high output id need co2 ?

my tanks 18" tall and the light will be sitting on top and il be having duao t5ho
                            cheers
