What is the difference between the Electronic Ballast vs the magnetic ballast for Metal Halide’s?

Also I have been seeing some Metal Halide ballast that have different settings on them going from a 150, 175, 250 to 400 or those okay or they bad?

Has anyone ever used either of these type of ballast before and if so what was your experince with them?

Not to familliar with how the ballast work but i believe electronic/magnetic ballast refers to the way the ballast fires up the light.
And the 150/175 250/400 means you can use that ballast to fire up that wattage so if you have one with a dail for 250 or 400 you can set it to start either bulb 250w or 400w
