Make sure there wasn't copper or any meds used with the rock or sand.

Maybe its just dead stuff leaching from the rocks into the water column?

Copper doesn't dissipate, I believe, some other meds could have dyes our what not that dried and now leaching as well.

Do a few water changes to be sure and test with the cheap frags!

        Btw, congrats bro!

When you said sitting outside, did you mean outdoor where it may have been rained on?
If that is the case, it's not good. You should have rinsed and soaked the rocks in clean water for a few days to make sure all chemicals, pollutants are leached out completely first.
It seems, right now, they are leaching out into your tank water. I would not trust that water so much.

There are bad stuffs in the water that we don't test for.

                      first sw tank...

So I turned my ac70 into a small refugium. And just put some live rock rubble n there

                      I also have a 2215 running.

Is the 2215 necessary? Or should I run another type of filter?

Something ive noticed with my salt tank... anything where bacteria can build up on needs to get cleaned every 3-4 days. I seem to get algae outbreaks if I forget to change a filter pad after a week. My tank is clearer now with no use of mesh or filter sponge pads/filter socks than I did with them. I think an eheim would be just a massive nitrate factory unless cleaned a couple times a week

                          first sw tank...

So just do away with the 2215and just keep the hang on fuge?

What other filter should I run?

You can use the 2215 as a polisher but that's gonna need to be cleaned frequently.

Get a AC110 as a fuge, then maybe some flow inside the tank and call it a day.

Whats frequent? Trying to have minimal work lol

Yeh I got koralia nano for flow.

Yeh if I can find a 110 I'll swap it out.
