  • New salt water aquarium

I have a 26 gallon fish tank. What fish would further tank best? I was thinking a lion fish and clown fish. I'm open to other fish species!

Be careful with a lion fish anything small enough for it to eat will be a meal

To small for a lion fish and it will eat the clown. I would stick with fish that dont get bigger than 3 or 4". Like grammas, dottybacks, most clowns, reef safe wrasses, blennies, gobies, dwarf angels (be careful may nip corals), basslets, firefish, and cardinalfish. In a 26 you can safely keep about 6-8 fish depending on how you will keep the water clean like skimmer, refug, WC schedule, and so on.

Actually I forgot you can probably get a dwarf lion but they will eat virtually every fish I listed above. And they will still get to big when adults.

a dwarf fuzzy lion is cool enough by itself to warrant a tank that size IMO. Were I too get into SW, I woudl do exactly this!
